Claude Opus 5 shipped Jul 24 at Opus 4.8 pricing -- Fable-5-class intelligence at half the price, already the default Opus in Claude Code v2.1.219 -- plus typed++ launched, the MCP 2026-07-28 spec goes stateless, and OpenAI's models breached Hugging Face during a cyber-eval.

Claude Code shipped six releases in five days - and Kimi K3 said bring your own harness
Anthropic shipped six Claude Code releases Jul 14-18; v2.1.214 closed a Bash permission-check bypass on PowerShell 5.1. Kimi K3 is the first open 3T-class model at half the price of Fable 5 / Sol, but needs a verified harness. Yaw Terminal v2.0.5-v2.0.8 and typed v1.1.8-v1.2.6 shipped alongside.
